Welcome to Stanton Lacy Village Hall

The heart and soul of our rural community in the beautiful South Shropshire hills.

Nestled in a landscape rich with history and character, Stanton Lacy is an ancient village, proudly recorded in the Domesday Book, and just a short three-mile journey from the vibrant market town of Ludlow. With a close-knit community of around 350 people, the village sits gracefully in the Corve Valley, anchored by the historic St Peter’s Church, a landmark for generations.

The Village Hall is located just three miles northeast of the village centre, at Hayton’s Bent, where the crossroads connect Hopton Gate to Chapel Bank, and Ludlow to Clee St Margaret. Once the site of the village's primary school, this beloved Hall was gifted by Mary Frances Rouse Boughton, former owner of nearby Downton Hall, as a lasting legacy for our community. Today, it operates as a charity, thoughtfully managed by a dedicated committee passionate about making it a thriving hub for all.

With a licensed bar, a performance stage, and a fully-equipped kitchen, the Hall is alive with activity, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

We have a regular programme of events, including:

  • Bar Night every Wednesday evening from 8pm to 11pm – a great chance to unwind, chat with friends, and meet new faces.
  • Coffee Morning on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 10am to 12 noon – perfect for catching up over a cuppa.
  • Community Market and Coffee Morning on the last Saturday of the month from 10am to 12 noon – a lively mix of local produce, crafts, and a great spot for community connections.
